Managers have been advised to crack down on GPs who are too ‘agreeable' and have ‘a desire to do well', in new NHS advice on how to performance-manage practices.
The National Clinical Assessment Service says managers should intervene early to tackle ‘behavioural difficulties' in all healthcare practitioners, including those who follow guidelines too rigidly or try to please patients.

For the past 5 months, Pricare has been working closely with NHS Leeds Community Healthcare to migrate some of their larger services onto the Choose and Book platform. This will enable GPs to book appointments directly with the service for their patients at the click of a button. The services now live are MSK Physiotherapy (tiers 1 and 2, ESPs and Doctors), MSK Podiatry and Biomechanics.

Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) want more information about the type of commissioning support services that are available to them, a survey has revealed.
The survey published today revealed that 59% of CCGs want more information about the choice of commissioning support available to them while 61% want more clarity on the types of services on offer.

A total of 78% of GPs have backed industrial action over pensions on a turn-out of 53%.
63% of the 17,561 GPs who voted in the ballot, voted yes to taking strike action and 78% backed taking industrial action short of a strike. The number of GPs who voted represented 53% of the total GP BMA membership.

The BMA Council has decided to take industrial action for the first time in nearly 40 years over changes to the pension scheme.
Council members made the decision to take industrial action over pension changes rather than strike action this morning after the results of the ballot published today revealed 78% of GPs backed industrial action on a turn-out of 53%.

With the patient's consent, users of TPP SystmOne GP can now upload a summary version of a patient's record to the NHS spine which can in turn be viewed by any other parties caring for the patient, again with the patient's consent. This also applies to non-GP units including Out of Hours and Community services.
