Notifications in TPP SystmOne (GP, Community, Child Health etc)

Notifications in SystmOne are the equivalent of sending an email to another user. They are not patient specific and are used for general communications to other SystmOne users. The message never leaves the platform and so are a very secure way to send communications. 

1. Click User > New Notification or CTRL+E to start.

Changing the type of BP reading during a consultation TPP SystmOne

During a consultation you can change the type of BP reading taken to standing, sitting, lying etc. This can only be done when using the New Consultation method. Your consultation type can be changed in User Preferences. 

1. Open a patient record and click Start Consultation. 

2. Right-click in the required field (History, Examination etc) and click Insert BP from the popup menu.

3. Enter the BP reading and use the drop down menu to select the type. 

Using the new F12 Launcher on TPP SystmOne (GP, Community, Child Health etc)

TPP have recently updated SystmOne with a feature that people have been asking for. You can now assign frequently used clinical templates, questionnaires, auto consultations and protocols to a key on your keyboard for fast access whilst in a consultation. This guide will how you how to set them up and use them in a patient record.


1. From your F8 Home Screen, press the F12 key on your keyboard.

TPP and EMIS announce direct data sharing

EMIS announced last week that they will start direct data sharing with TPP in a move that will see the majority of the UK's patient records available (at no extra cost) to any clinicians involved in the patient's care. 

It has long been a frustration, especially to community and urgent care units, to be unable to see required information from organisations using a different clinical system to their own. 

Using the Tabbed Journal and Filters in TPP SystmOne

The Tabbed Journal offers improved functionality and filtering over the New Journal. The screen by default offers set tabs to display data recorded at different locations in date order. For instance, you can click GP data to quickly show all data recorded at the patient's GP surgery. There are also tabs for Community data, Urgent Care admissions and Local Data (data entered at your organisation).

In the example below, we will create a new tab to show data entered by yourself. 

Summary Care Record (SCR) reaches 50m patients

The NHS Summary Care Record has reached the 50 million patient mark, with more than 30,000 record views now occurring each week.

The milestone is the latest demonstration of the SCR’s growing use, after it was initially bedevilled with criticisms about confidentiality and low viewing levels.

The Health and Social Care Information Centre announced last week that there are now 50 million people with an SCR created from their GP records, meaning that 90% of the population is now covered.

Home Visit Recurrence in TPP SystmOne

When booking a home visit for a patient, you can select to recur the visit at certain intervals. In the example below, we will book a home visit for a patient, then set it to recur twice a week (on Wednesday and Friday) for the next 6 weeks. 

1. Open the Home Visits screen by clicking Appointments > Visits or press CTRL + H on the keyboard. 

2. Click the New Visit button in the top-left of the screen. 

Reassign a patient to a different Caseload - TPP SystmOne Community

At times it may be necessary to move patients in your unit from one caseload to another. There are a couple of ways to do this and preference will depend on your method of working.


From the Caseloads screen

1. Access the Caseloads screen by clicking the Workflow menu > Caseloads

2. Access the patient list by clicking on the required caseload on the left hand side of your screen. 

3. Highlight the patient on the list and either right-click > reassign caseload, or single click to highlight then click the Reassign Caseload Holder button on the toolbar.
